Have you noticed the new structure rising on Cambridge Terrace under the Daysh Street Bridge in Naenae? Last week, I had the chance to tour the construction site of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Naenae with fellow Councillor Tony Stallinger. This impressive building is set to be a vibrant centre for worship, education, and community peace.
The tour revealed the Mandir’s dual role: a spiritual haven and an educational hub designed to foster understanding among Wellington’s diverse communities. Its intricate architecture underscores the community’s dedication to creating a meaningful space that goes beyond traditional worship.
The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan community is known for its impactful educational and humanitarian initiatives, and this temple will further their mission, offering a sanctuary for all those seeking knowledge and a sense of belonging.
