Hutt Valley Bus Services review

Greater Wellington Regional Council has reviewed the Hutt Valley bus services and made some changes to make sure they meet people’s needs as much as possible, and that they’re being run as efficiently as possible. They found that some services are not able to meet high levels of demand, while others are not being used much at all.

Who is my competition in the council elections?

In the interest in being completely transparent about the upcoming elections, I thought I would highlight who my competition is in the Harbour Ward. Please bear in mind that if successfully appointment one of these will be my fellow councillors as two are chosen from each area.

Nominations are CLOSED

Nominations closed today at noon across New Zealand for the upcoming local government elections. The exciting news is there are five people standing for mayor of Lower Hutt, including the two-term incumbent Ray Wallace. It’s always good for democracy to have an election for key positions, so while I’m sure Ray will be re-elected – it’s good for the system that he is challenged.
