2022 Commitment
Well, COVID has a lot to answer for, and large scale events are certainly one. I will continue to push for large conferences & events to our city. I’ve worked with a number of promoters which has already resulted in some large events in Lower Hutt, but we can still do more.
2019 Commitment
While the new events centre is undoubtably going to bring large conferences and events to our city, I want to see our council using public spaces for large events such as music festivals and concerts. The summer outdoor concerts in recent years at McEwan Park were highly successful for everyone involved, and I would love to see these (along with others) become permanent fixtures on the entertainment calendar.
