You can also go in to the main council building and a few other council facilities and vote in person. Details below:

You can also cast a special vote for the Hutt City Council election at Wellington’s election hub at Te Awe Library, 29 Brandon Street, Wellington.

What is a special vote?
It’s exactly the same as a normal vote – it’s just the technical term for a voting paper that isn’t issued to you automatically.
Just need to give your name and address, and they will give you a voting paper.
Why didn’t I get a normal voting paper?
This could be one of a number of reasons:
- You are on the unpublished (non-public roll)
- Your electoral details aren’t updated
- Issue with the postal system
- Recently moved house
- Have never voted before
